SPECIAL PROJECTS > BISHOP HIGH'S PECTORAL CROSS

Wax Carving Intro
Wax Carving Intro

Initially I carve a model out of wax. Some waxes are hard that require sawing and filing and other waxes are soft and can be applied when molten on a hot tool and then sculpted and carved.

I sawed, cut, filed, and carved, the basic shape for Bishop High's cross out of a block of hard blue wax shown here. Follow through the next images to see the symbols being built up and shaped on the blue wax form.
