My work with polymer clay has led me in many new directions of pure fun and play. It is my therapy. My metal work requires much planning, precision, and time to see a piece through varying stages of production to completion. My clay work is quite the opposite. Polymer clay comes in many colors, and is soft and supple. I start working it with no real plan. I combine, mix, blend, and swirl colors until I say, "yeah, I like that!" Then I roll, bend, cut, twist, fold, or scrunch until I say, "yeah, I like that!" Sometimes I may squish in a doodad or two for a little something special. I'll spend an afternoon filling a cookie sheet with my bits of fun and then pop it in the oven and voila...20 minutes later it's almost ready to sell, just needing a pin back, cord, or wire hanger to finish it off. This satisfies my need for some instant gratification! The polymer clay and beads have added more color to my life. Color exhilarates me and speaks to my soul!
