This painting brings the proverb to mind "a rolling stone gathers no moss". Seems there is an old meaning and a contemporary interpretation. I'm identifying with the new that equates "moss" to "stagnation"; as such the proverb can also refer to those who keep moving as never lacking for fresh ideas or creativity
