RUBBER MOLD
RUBBER MOLD

A rubber mold is made from the master. To make the rubber mold, sheets of rubber are packed in a frame around the master and it goes through a process of heat and pressure to fuse and solidify the rubber around the master. Then the mold is cut open to remove the master and the remaining void is filled with hot wax for each reproduced piece that comes from it.

The photo shows the silver master resting on the rubber mold with wax injections from the mold laying around it.
