Stained glass window at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Houston TX
Epiphany's Window

The window at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany is a strong focal point in the church's architecture. The entire roof design swirls around the window inside and outside the church. The window design was based on a mandala. Mandalas are used as centering tools to focus one's attention. A familiar type of mandala would be a labyrinth.

I started my design process for the anniversary cross with a digital image of the window on my computer and began to take out details to simplify it for jewelry use, yet still retain enough of it's design to be representative of the window.

In the following images you will see my design in a graphic form and in the silver jewelry forms.
