CLAY BEADMAKING & STRINGING
After slicing up the logs, each piece is shaped into a bead. Most are rolled into a ball shape in the palm of my hand and then I may use the bead roller to shape ovals, bicones, and small round beads. The rolling action further marbleizes the clay and care must be taken not to over roll and muddy up the colors. Other shapes and sizes I make by hand. A "t-pin" is used to carefully make the bead hole without misshaping the bead and then laid on the paper lined cookie sheet for baking.
