SCULPTING A WAX MODEL
BUILDING THE DETAILS 1
After sculpting the 3 dimensional quatrefoil form out of a block of hard blue wax by cutting, and removing wax with saws and files, I begin a buildup sculpture process using a molten soft red wax...the staff and wheat symbols are developing in this photo. I have scratched outlines of the next sheep into the wax to lead my buildup.
